Cumberland Coal Mine Portal 9

DiMarco Construction constructed a new mine support facility for Cumberland Coal at Portal 9. The building was elevated to align directly with the mine shaft opening, allowing miners to transition from the underground elevator directly into locker and shower facilities.

The facility includes training rooms, administrative offices, and a specialized HVAC drying system for miners’ gear. Built directly above an active 700-foot-deep shaft, the project required precise structural coordination.
